Oh to wake with this!

A long lost smile

Eyes sweetly misty

Aware of an unfamiliar peace

Considering

Big things wrapped in small things:

A warm chocolate chip cookie with a glass of cool milk

And seeing the sun play peek-a-boo through leaves dancing in the breeze

And a walk-off grand slam that we rewind again and again

And genuine laughter, rich and overflowing

And signs of healing in the telling and deep listening

And the warmth of you next to me

And this gift of a new day

The welcome and lovely embrace

Of much needed hope and joy
